Geena has a background in molecular biology and antiviral research, and is responsible for designing and performing cell culture experiments in Kimer Med’s laboratory.

Prior to working at Kimer Med, she completed her PhD at the University of Otago and worked as an assistant research fellow establishing experiments to screen antiviral compounds.

Her PhD research focused on murine norovirus and how it modulates the host cell to benefit replication.

Away from the lab, Geena has had previous experience in the startup ecosystem of Aotearoa though the Momentum program which kicked-started her interest in innovation and biotech.
